Computers are generally designed in such a way that they can be customized, accessorized or programmed to perform various functions. Most of the ordinary computers are used for browsing and other computing tasks like typing, printing, storing information and data. The gaming computers are of a different kind and are designed to bring casinos and total entertainment into your living room, so you can play all the latest video games from the famous game consoles once they are released. The latest games contain graphics which may not be supported by some computers; do not buy any game unless you are very sure that your computer can play it. There are various gaming laptops for those who want to play games during their travels, as well as gaming desktops for those who want to do so in their offices or at home or in any other place where they are resting or relaxing. The gaming laptops and desktops have their respective advantages and disadvantages, just like the normal ones, when it comes to gaming. The desktops are better in terms of performance but are not portable. The laptops are portable, but are not as excellent in performance as the desktops. Your life style, the nature of work you do and your interests will influence your choice.
For any computer, whether laptop or desktop, to play the various games, it must have a video card. This is a device which moderates the graphics information processing and ensures that the games are displayed with 3D resolution pictures and sound clarity. The cheapest video cards have a graphic memory of 512 MB, but they may not give you the required gaming experience, so it is advisable that you get a 1 GB video card. You should ensure that the video card has a core clock which is fast; it should also have memory clock. These two components ensure that the game displays have excellent frame rates - even on large high resolution screens.
Good gaming computers should also have dual core processors, hard drives which are of high speed and many other features and components which ensure that they have quicker processing of information capability and the ability to store data. A dual core processor with a 2.66 Ghz core clock can process and play most games, but it will be better if you get an Intel quad-core processor or AMD 6-core processor. With these processors you can begin playing games with a hard drive of 512 MB comfortably.
Another factor you may need to consider in selecting gaming computers (laptops and desktops) is whether their CPU memory and data processing speed can be expanded. You should also ensure that you have a power supply of at least 700 watts, because most games from the famous game consoles operate under this power. The computers must also have several high speed USB ports so that you can connect the necessary gaming accessories like the flight sticks, gaming keyboard and racing wheels. The gaming keyboard in particular allows the user to program some particular functions. For clarity and a better view, the gaming computer should have large LED or LCD screen. You can also connect your computer system to external speakers or woofers so that the gaming sounds sound real and interesting.
